Each spring, Hillel of Silicon Valley invites all to our annual L’Dor V’Dor event to celebrate our students and the community that supports them. Thanks to you, Hillel SV students participate in a broad range of Jewish activities, enjoy Shabbat and the holidays, and learn to become leaders, both on campus and as they graduate into the broader Jewish community.
This year L’Dor V’Dor’s will feature a festive and lively Mimouna celebration; a traditional Moroccan Jewish celebration held the day after Passover, marking the return to eating chametz.
Guests will be treated to a lively and entertaining program, and in addition to the scrumptious buffet our guests have grown accustomed to, we will offer some traditional Moroccan cuisine.
Mark Yudof, former President of the University of California, former Chancellor of the University of Texas system, and a prominent legal scholar, will be our keynote speaker. Since leaving the UC presidency, Mr. Yudof has launched the Academic Engagement Network to defend academic freedom by allowing lively debate to flourish on campuses, countering the anti-Israel, Anti-Jewish, and anti-open-inquiry forces currently infecting many academic environments.
Leonard and Sylvia Metz are this year's community honorees. they have tirelessly devoted themselves to supporting Hillel for many years. We are deeply grateful to hem for their wise counsel, optimism, energy, and generosity.
We will also honor San Jose State University students Jordan Taxon and Josephine Tutman for their leadership and contributions to our Hillel.
Our Master of Ceremonies will be Scott Budman, Emmy Award winning reporter and anchor for NBC Bay Area's Weekly technology program.
